 Malaysian
Paralympic Council (MPC) celebrated its 20th anniversary on
18th May 2009. The first 10years of its existence of more
of a direction and soul searching mission. The second 10 years
under GPN 2010 (2001-2010) was to lay a strong foundation
for growth. Hopefully, the next 10 years the GPN 2020 (2011-2020),
MPC will be a developed and strong organization, full of credibility,
professionalism and integrity. Through its vision, mission
and the pride of Malaysia, reflecting the image, status and
dignity of persons with a disability and the para athletes
in focus.
The year 2009 is equally prominent for us. MPC plays host
and organizer to the 5th Asean Para Games in August , the
IPC Powerlifting Asian Championships in October and the IPC
General Assembly in November. Our athletes aim for a victory
with excellence in the 5th Asean Para Games Kuala Lumpur,
Asian Youth Para Games in Tokyo come September and in the
IPC Powerlifting Asian Championships in October. Let’s
all cheer them to glory and pass on the spirit of “Malaysia
Boleh”
The immediate challenge in front of us is to get corporations
and companies, big and small to become caring sponsors or
involved in the Proud supporter programme with the aim to
match the government’s grant and ensuring success of
the Games.
