Guangzhou, China – Dato’ Zainal Abu Zarin from Malaysia was elected the new president of the Asian Paralympic Committee today at the APC General Assembly held in Guangzhou, China.
Zainal has been the founding President of Malaysian Paralympic Council.
“The APC’s main responsibility has to be the organization, protection and development of increasingly successful Summer and Winter Para Games,” said Zainal after his election. “The Para Games have not yet become a marketing and business circus. Our values really are the combination of genuine amateur ethics and high performance sport.
The newly elected Board of Executive Committee of the APC is comprised of the following members:
