The Malaysian Paralympic Council (MPC) held a seminar on the National Paralympic Movement (GPN2010) on 16 June 2011 at the Commonwealth Hall, National Sports Council of Malaysia in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur. The purpose of this seminar was to pursue excellence in:
- Developing Sports of high standards for all
- Playing an effective role as a player at the national and global level
- Creating acceptance and equal opportunities
- Developing sport structures at national and state levels (NSOD, sports specific and PESRON)
- Organizing regular and periodic sports (Sports Formula Program 5:1:1:1)
- Ensuring that the MPC has property that would enable it to act as an independent body
There were a total of 100 participants, from both governmental agencies as well as non-governmental bodies, at the seminar. Papers presented included:
- The 2010 Paralympic Movement
- The Global Paralympic Movement
- The role of the MPC in Disability Sports Leadership Development
- Classification of the National Association of Paralympic Sports





The MPC also held a seminar on the National Paralympic Movement (GPN2010) for the second time on 18 May 2009 at the Commonwealth Hall, National Sports Council of Malaysia, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, in conjunction with its 20th. Papers presented included:
- Education, Training and Human Resources
- Internationalization
- National Paralympic Movement (GPN2010)
- Presentation and Validation Report and Resolution Seminar
A proposal made at this seminar was that the MPC should hold a convention on disabled sports, which was submitted by Mr Vigithuman of the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur’s Athletics. Mr Lee Seng Chow suggested that the MPC should start a Paralympic Sports Academy for Malaysia and then to the region.
